GN Solids Delivers Six TBM Slurry Separation Plants for International Tunneling Projects
GN Solids continues to strengthen its presence in the global tunneling industry with the delivery of six TBM Slurry Separation Plants designed for slurry balance tunnel boring machine (TBM) operations. These systems are engineered to handle processing capacities of 500 m³/h and 750 m³/h, ensuring efficient and reliable slurry treatment for demanding underground construction projects.
The TBM slurry separation system plays a critical role in slurry balance tunneling by separating excavated soil and solids from the slurry used during the tunneling process. By efficiently removing solids and recirculating clean slurry back to the TBM, the system helps maintain stable excavation pressure, improves operational efficiency, and reduces overall project costs.
Each slurry separation plant is equipped with three key treatment modules: scalping screen, desander, and desilter. The scalping screen removes large particles and debris at the first stage, protecting downstream equipment and ensuring stable system operation. The desander unit removes medium-sized particles, while the desilter stage captures finer solids, providing effective multi-stage separation and maintaining slurry quality throughout the process.
The systems feature a modular design, which provides a compact footprint and allows for quick installation, easy transportation, and convenient assembly and disassembly at project sites. Modularization also offers greater flexibility for contractors, making it easier to adapt the system to different site conditions and project requirements.
GN Solids designs its slurry separation plants with a focus on durability, efficiency, and ease of maintenance. High-quality components, optimized process flow, and robust structural design ensure long-term reliability even in challenging tunneling environments. The system is also designed to reduce wear on critical components, helping lower maintenance costs and extend equipment service life.
These TBM slurry separation plants will support shield tunneling projects in South Korea, where reliable slurry treatment technology is essential for maintaining continuous excavation performance and minimizing operational interruptions. With the increasing demand for underground infrastructure such as metro lines, utility tunnels, and transportation corridors, efficient slurry separation systems are becoming increasingly important in modern tunneling operations.
With advanced solids control technology and extensive experience in slurry separation systems, GN Solids Control continues to deliver high-performance solutions for tunneling projects worldwide. Through innovation, engineering expertise, and a strong commitment to quality, GN Solids remains dedicated to supporting global infrastructure development with reliable and efficient separation technologies.
